Location: Parts Unknown | If the elf ear fin tips aren't enough, the visiting of the early 70's styling cue of putting the tail lights in the bumper is every bit as ugly as it was in those early 70's cars ! This exercise in design brilliance gets my vote for "WTF ?".

yep I am afraid it did. A disgusting example of how not to customize a car... There was some really really horrible car customizations going on in the 60's and 70's.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9665 Location: So. Cal | Surprisingly the back end isn't the worst of it. The interior is sickeningly atrocious. It might go well with a straight jacket, but that is about it. Replace the interior and the roof, and I might drive it. Edited by Powerflite 2017-09-14 7:45 PM (58chry80689-3.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 58chry80689-3.jpg (50KB - 156 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I know there are Soooo many "Why?" questions with this car but I will add one of mine: Why do a remote oil filter but a) stay with a cartridge? b) mount it so it is impossible to do a clean oil change? Hot hemi heads has a block off plate set up for hose fittings leading to a remote spin-on filter mount that could be mounted vertically http://hothemiheads.com/oiling_system/oil_remote_adapter.html http://hothemiheads.com/oiling_system/oil_remote_filter_mount.html Of course the list of other "WHY (oh why)?" questions is endless on this car. I think I would hope that the new owner removes the drive train, the hood, the front fenders, grill and dash and then crushes the car so it can stop inflicting bad taste on the world. Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | At that price, you could "fix" what you don't like and probably still make a buck. I wouldn't have built it that way, but it's fun to see it. Lighten up girls, there are hundreds (thousands?) of restored stockers out there. Edited by 57burb 2017-09-14 10:09 PM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | thousands? maybe a few couple hundred... a 300C+D+E spotting is like an eclipse... but the 300's did get protected by their owners a bit more, but they made very few.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | http://www.frantzfilters.com/product/universal-kit/ rofl your right it is one of those stupid toilet paper roll filters... Utter garbage and stupid but the "website" says they are great! and the best! hah they spill oil everywhere when you change out your toilet roll every 500 miles. Get the right toilet paper or your in trouble... don't want the kind that breaks down easily... god only knows what it truly does to your oil pressure, it will bypass I think if it has to. Dumbest idea for oil filtration in the last 20 years but there is a sucker born every minute...

Don't think I have seen that before *OR* if I did, it was in the back of my Father's "TRUE" magazine along with the ads for sea monkeys and porn in brown paper envelopes. Here is a shot of the one on the 300D (I can see the name FRANZ now): Edited by 56D500boy 2017-09-15 11:54 AM (FranzOilFilter.jpg) Attachments ---------------- FranzOilFilter.jpg (80KB - 164 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Those TP filters were known for filtering too well....they removed most of the detergents and other additives that are supposed to be in oil. This car was done 'back in the day'. While atrocious, it's just a small part of 300 history by now. Had this work been done today....a lynch mob would be called for.

Regular Posts: 61 | If you have ever changed oil on one you would understand wanting to move the filter, but their chose of where to install it sux just and bad as the rest of the car.

And you'd need it. With the amount of bondo that's got to be in that body, going around a corner fast would make it list like crazy!

I fully understand the desire to move the filter. BUT continuing to mount it upside down in the remote location is less than smart.
