I'm replacing the cat's whisker on my 2 rear windows, the outer ones on each. Does anyone know of a better way of attaching them other than using pop-rivets?

Ian: Have a look at the cat's whisker attachment thread that I started:

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=65605&...

I used 1/8" x 1/8" pop rivets and then covered the rivet heads with whisker material, glued on with 3M weather stripping glue (a little dab will do ya).

I glued mine in place with clear 2 part epoxy. They are still holding strong 10 years later.

I used original-looking regular rivets on the front windows of my 4 door...used a rivet press made for changing the guards and teeth on a grain swather.

Well I ended up using small stainless steel flat-head 6 x 1/2" sheet metal screws, they did the job very nicely. With the flat head, they recess nicely and are almost completely hidden.
Similar but not identical to the ones pictured. The ones I used actually have a square socket head ( Robertson - Canadian) instead of Philips head.
