I have a 1959 Dodge Custom Royal D500 Sedan with Level-Flite Air Suspension. The air compressor needs refurbished/rebuilt. Can you recommend anyone in the Dallas / Fort Worth TX area who might be willing to rebuild a vintage air compressor? If not, can you recommend a company in the US that can work on something like this? Any suggestions or tips are very welcome!

Thanks!

If it is like a caddy compressor, may be able to have one of the suppliers/rebuilders of their systems a try, chevy too.

mstrug, Thanks for the tips! I found a company in Grand Prairie, GP Audio, who is willing to work on it. I'll find out more next week.

Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Well, no luck finding a shop to work on the Level-Flite air ride on my 59 Dodge CR 4HT. Even the professional shops that rebuild hundreds of compressors a month or works exclusively on 50's era Mopars rejected the work. So, I found someone who worked in the assembly plants in Detroit in '59 who said he was familiar with these and would rebuild the compressor. So far, it's looking pretty good! Now, I need to find the leveling valve for the rear end. If you know where I can find the valve, please let me know. I have most of the valve, but the valve adjuster rod was damaged when the rubber linkage broke several years ago, and the inner part of the valve is missing.

Okay, I got the compressor re-installed in the car and it works great! The tanks are filing with air and the valve works perfectly, but the Air Bags are 60 years old and have huge holes, cracks, and are just dried up. So, now, all I need are new Air Bags for the rear and I'm all set. However, I'm NOT able to find the proper air bags (or any air bags) that will attach properly to the rear air tank. So, I'm looking for some help. If anyone know where I can find some air bags that will work with this system, please let me know. Imperial also used this system, but called it, True-Level Torsion Aire. Looking forward to your replies!

Might be hard finding new oem airbags, maybe impossible!. Have you thought about adapting modern units? Nice going with the compressor, I hope you get it all going.

Thanks for the feedback! Yup, I've pretty much resolved that this will have to be something I'll need to get creative with. Keep the suggestions coming though! Thanks all!
