I want to put 15 inch wheels on my 57 imperial (it came with 14in) to clear my disc brake set up.

I have a set of 15in hubcaps from a 59 imperial that I want to use. So my question is will these hubcaps fit on just about any steel wheel or is there a specific wheel I need to use?

If I buy new steel wheels who knows the correct size? were they 15x7 and what backspacing was used?

Thanks for any info I spent the last couple hours searching the web and these forums for the answer but couldn't find it

Have you converted to discs both front AND rear? Your Imperial bolt pattern was 5 on 5.5". What pattern do you have now? Front?______ Rear?______

On a '57 Chrysler factory race car with the Imperial suspension option I used the vented 15" wheels from a 1960 Imperial and had them widened from factory 6" to 7" using original centers and new outers (Stockton Wheel did the work). The one inch was added half to the inside and half to the outside to keep the same stresses on the wheel bearings. Running 225 75R front and 235 75R rear.

yes disc front and rear. Bolt pattern is 5x5.5 , I made a thread on how I did the rears on the stock tapered axle and keeping the original bolt patterns in the brakes section.

So again do the stock hub caps fit onto basic steel wheels? Is there a supplier that sells new steelies that the stock hub caps fit over?
Anyone know what the backspacing for imperial is? I can attempt to measure my14's for this number and carry it over to the 15's

I don't know anyone making 5 on 5.5" pattern new steel wheels suitable to cars. That was why I started with old Imperial wheels. Very simple to measure backspacing. Diagrams all over the internet. Put a straight edge across the back of the wheel and measure!!!
