We have a 55 Plymouth with factory power steering. Has excessive play in the power steering unit. Does anyone know of someone that rebuilds these units or has a good unit for sale? Is anyone familiar with these units that can advise on doing adjustments to the existing unit to to remove the excessive play. Thanks, Dave and Linda Poston

I don't know if the 55-56 are the same, but I know that there are some threads about a rubber coupler somewhere on the shaft that wears out and needs to be replaced. I believe that Gary Goers sells that piece.

The rubber insulator is Gary Goers #24A, fits '55-'57.
