New User Posts: 3 Location: Beaverton, Oregon 97006 | Anyone know where to locate the brass fitting that screws into the underside of the Brake Master cylinder so the brake hose can be attached? I'm not sure of the thread size? The male thread that screws into the Master cylinder may be a 7/16 -24? The inverted female flare on the other side the the fitting looks like a fine thread. Mine is badly damaged. Auto Parts stores had no idea. I am new here and would really appreciate a lead for obtaining this fitting. Thanks. Edited by Kitra 2017-06-23 11:15 AM

Expert Posts: 4036 Location: Connecticut | This should be easy to find. Most major auto parts stores have drawers full of various size brass fittings. Bring the hose with you and match the male end to a female brass fitting. You can determine the pitch of the female port on the master by looking at the hydraulic switch that screws into the other port on the master. It's the same pitch on either port. Ron

The master cylinder has a course male thread but the female inverted flare side is a fine "brake-line" type of thread. All they had were course threads on both. I'll keep looking.

All of the flare nuts are fine thread, either 3/8"-24 or 7/16"-20, the male part of the fitting is tapered pipe thread....neither fine or coarse.

New User Posts: 3 Location: Beaverton, Oregon 97006 | Here in Beaverton Oregon, we have an Auto Parts Store called "Baxter's", Family owned. They let me go to the area behind the counter as they had tons of fittings in slide-out drawers. Found the fitting I needed in 5 minutes. I can continue working on the brake system. Thanks for the help!
