Location: So. Cal | I have a dumb question. There is a switch to the right side of my headlight switch. It is a 2-position switch that has a W on the knob. I originally assumed that it was the wiper switch, and since it didn't do anything, I thought that there was an issue with them. Turns out the issue was with me because once I turned the proper switch near the ash tray, they came on fine. But what is that switch for? It that W really an M that is upside down, or maybe a weird looking E? Thanks. |

Location: The Mile High City | On 1958 Dodges, there is a W and an M knob. The W is for wipers, the M is for Map Light.
I think the knob order from Left to Right is
L - headlight and parking light with dimmer
M - map and interior lights
steering wheel
B - fan
D - vent control (floor or dash)
ignition
then there is the radio control knobs and above them:
W - wiper control
ash tray
C - lighter

Location: So. Cal | Thanks Mike. Does the map light switch have 2 positions? What are they supposed to do with both positions? |

Yes 2 positions, one click brings on map light, second click brings on map and interior roof light. |

Location: So. Cal | Yes, if you count the off position, mine is 3-way as well. I didn't realize that off was in the middle. Good to know. That would explain the odd position of the knob too. I had it always on.
