Member Posts: 11 | Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, and just this weekend got a 1959 Sport Fury hardtop. I'm totally in love with the car and am really excited to enjoy cruising and going to car shows in it. One thing I've noticed is that it seems hard to find restoration parts for these cars, compared to the late 60s mopars I have had. Do you all have any pointers on where to find restoration parts? The car is in really great shape but is missing some small odds and ends such as one of the little fake buckles on the front of the driver's seat upholstery. The car looks very stock, but the driveline has been modernized with a built 383 and 727 Torqueflight transmission both from a 1969, power steering, power disc brakes, vintage air AC, etc. Edited by john@tripwireinterac 2017-05-28 11:43 AM (IMG_5431.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_5431.JPG (442KB - 207 downloads)

Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | Welcome to the land of the Forward Look. It's certainly true that when compared to the B and E body cars, there isn't a large selection of repro parts available for our cars. There are some repro parts being made such as door handles, outside mirrors., etc. but not a lot. Mostly, you'll be looking for either good used parts or NOS. That said, with a little bit of searching, pretty much any part is available. For mechanical parts, Rock Auto is pretty good for a good number of parts. It's always worthwhile to look there first. Somewhere we have a discount code good for a 5% discount. For used parts, Big M has a great reputation. The owner John Fowlie is a frequent contributor to our forum. http://www.bigmauto.com/ Of course, regular searches on eBay can produce good results if you keep at it. Nice links on this page for doing year-specific eBay searches. http://www.forwardlook.net/ Gary Goers makes and sells a TON of small weird parts for FL cars. He has been dealing with some health issues lately, so he may not be responding as quickly as usual. Typically, he responds by snail mail or fax only. His catalog can be found here: http://www.garygoers.com/products.html SMS for interior upholstery fabric. https://www.smsautofabrics.com/ RD Autoline in Sweden for dash pads and some other parts http://autoline.se/?page_id=255 There a good number of other vendors as well who may have specific parts. For anything you can't find, post what you are looking for on this forum. There's a good chance that another member may have it or at least have any idea of where to find it. Good luck! And post some pics of your car in the Member's Rides section!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7206 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Welcome to the forum John. Those seat buckles may be hard to find, but look very much like these buckles, on a late 70s to early 80s Dodge Van with the upgrade interior. I owned one back then.
