Elite Veteran Posts: 1147 Location: Wild Wonderful | I am going to sell the black and white Firedome spring special and the Spanish Gold 2 door hardtop parts car with it. As most of you know, the spring special has been taken apart. The parts car will help fix it. I will make sure all the parts are there. If you want to see how I got the black and white SS, please go to " 2014 Merry Christmas to me " under members rides. I need to get about $7k for the both of them. Elite Veteran Posts: 1147 Location: Wild Wonderful | This car is still for sale. I took it all apart, but I am going to put it back together. I have bought a lot of parts and panels for it. If you are interested in it, let me know. If you want me to do something to it, real quick, I will see what I can do. It has new doors, trunk lid, & front inner fenders. I got a real good set of quarter panels. I only screwed them to the car. I am just going to put the car together really quick, so it can make the trip over seas. Those guys over there know how to weld and put the car together correctly. The people in the USA just don't know how to handle a car like this. Expert Posts: 3156 Location: NY & VT | I wouldn't make the generalization that "people in the USA don't know how to handle a car like this". There's plenty of restorers here that are every bit as competent and perfectionist as the Swedes, or anybody else. Our own John "Big M" is the proof of that! Your're not that far from PA, go see Al Prueitt in Glen Rock PA sometime to see some incredible work. There's loads of others as well. The difference is that Swedes, however, have money to spend and are more willing to spend it. Talented people like Al Prueitt and Jan Fridberg aren't free, Edited by firedome 2018-04-09 10:47 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 1147 Location: Wild Wonderful | Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but in general, Americans are sissies when it comes to rust. Prove me wrong. The 7k was for both 2 door hardtops. At the time I was throwing a number at the wall to see if it sticks. Now that I have Titles for everything in the back yard, I would like to sell the cars separately. So if someone wants to make me an offer on the whole back yard, I am willing to listen. I have a lot more panels and trim pieces for this car. I replaced the doors, fenders, trunk lid, Speedometer, gauges, and clock. I bought rocker panels, quarter panels, floor panels, and trunk panels. I never got a chance to replace the windshield yet. It has a 6" crack on the passenger side. Send me a serious offer, the worst I can do is say no, but I am sure we can meet somewhere in the middle. I want someone who is not afraid to restore this car. I would love to see it black and white, or black and silver, with a red and black interior. Awesome. Yes, those quarters are just screwed on, for now. Elite Veteran Posts: 1147 Location: Wild Wonderful | I would hate to put this car back together just to have the new owner take it back apart. If you are interested, I will make sure you have a complete car, including the new side trim, new black carpet, correct side mirrors, and all the Spring Special parts.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5054 | paint it yourself man, its easy. I paint all my cars, takes a day to get it done even in the driveway. https://www.amazon.com/3M-16580-Accuspray-System-Standard/dp/B01497M... get the 3m accuspray gun. Go get your colors and some clear coat. I am painting my car in single stage. sand it and buff it out. Paint jobs go from 3500 to 25000$ and "depends" ... if your car is stripped its super easy. You have a earl scheib in WV in dunbar? They "shoot" the car for 399$ Thats basically just the labor in the booth. http://www.earlscheibautopainting.com/about.html Here is an example of my 3000Gt and Dodge Stealth I painted in my garage its a good Saturday workout but you save a lot. its a 25000$ paint job (bothcars.jpg) Attachments ---------------- bothcars.jpg (55KB - 406 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5054 | this has Nason paint and clear coat, i wet sanded and buffed it out. But it was painted in the garage and small things done outside. Prob put 4 coats of clear on it. two coats of black. eastwood paints are what I'm going with, their single stage but your local paint shops will have them also. Probably for cheaper https://www.eastwood.com/paints/automotive-refinishing.html Edited by mikes2nd 2018-04-12 12:07 PM (stealth 215.jpg) Attachments ---------------- stealth 215.jpg (236KB - 368 downloads)

Don't feel bad, that's more welding than anyone wants to do. But I'm gonna do it anyway. I didn't think that anyone was going to take it over in this condition. But I figured that I would put it out there just to let people know about it, and to see if anyone wanted a Spring Special. I will continue to work on it, when I get the chance.

Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | It's all together, haven't done any disassembly. First step is to get it running and moving under it's own power and go from there. It needs rear floors bad and the center of the trunk, outer rockers, but it's not nearly as bad as this car quarters are nice inner rockers good front floors aren't bad doors and front clip good.

" Can't wait to see it on the road again. I would like to see all three of these SS cars together on the road sometime. I hope that whomever buys this SS car will have the time, patience and stamina to put it back together correctly. A lot of parts were missing when I got it, but I have put a lot into it. Someone with welding skills will have a nice car.

BTW, before I painted the interior, I treated the metal with rust neutralizer. So whoever gets this car will not have to worry about any rust for a while. Also, that brown looking stuff, on the wall, in the back seat area, is the original glue. I think someone got carried away when they were applying it. Do not let the people who sold you the replacemet panel (that is NEVER like OE) determine how much you remove. Only fix the rust. It is important to keep solid anchor points, if you want the metal shape like from the factory afterwards.

It is important to keep solid anchor points, if you want the metal shape like from the factory afterwards. Trust me, I did not cut out way too much. I only cut out the rust, and this is what I was left with. I still have to cut about two inches off of the top/front of that front replacement panel. Very seldom do I use the complete panel. Also, remember, that some of this area was already cut out by the previous owner.

Do you know who made them? I heard that the 300 club made some of these. I was thinking that that is where they came from. Thanks again for selling them to me.
