Location: Frederick, MD | My '55 Plaza 2-door Suburban had the one-piece molded plastic headliner. It was too old and brittle to survive being removed. I have a new sewn headliner on order and have obtained bows from CTC. I'm hoping members with these wagons with sewn headliners will be kind enough to post some photos, especially of how the sides and rear edges are trimmed. |

Location: Frederick, MD | I've realized I don't yet have the correct bows to install my headliner, so I have to remedy that. However, I'd still love to see some photos of how the sewn headliners are trimmed in the wagons. |

Location: Frederick, MD | I've got some more headliner bows on order from Big M. I'm still hoping someone will have photos of how the sides of the sewn headliner is trimmed. I assume Dodge would be the same.

Location: Mandurah, Western Australia | Hi, I have a 55 4 door Plymouth wagon which also has the plastic liner so will be interested in seeing how you progress. These back forums dont seem to get as much traffic, a bit short on replies.
Do you have the old lining out yet? I assume it doesnt have any bows, is that right? I cant feel any support and the lining sags.

Location: Frederick, MD | There are no bows with the molded plastic headliner. There are two bows that support the dome light which helps hold up the plastic headliner. |

Location: Mandurah, Western Australia | Thanks for the info. I aim to try and remove the plastic liner supported on a wooden frame, then reinforce it with bows, and patch the splits and gaps from the back, then turn over and fill imperfections with plastic filler. maybe I'm too optimistic, as it does look brittle.
The liner is really unique and mine is Pompano Peach which is quite spectacular - just peachy! |
