I'm going to put a 440 into my 57 Belvedere and could use some help on which oil pan is required for this swap. I have a "187" center sump pan and that forces engine too far to the rear for that to work without cutting up the cross member. Which donor cars/vehicles do I need to look for to find a pan that will work. Thanks for your help.edit: the 187 pan is more of a forward sump than a center sump pan. There is a junk yard near here that has a 60 Chrysler and a 63 Dodge 880, both with big blocks. Would either of those be good donors?

No replies yet but let me share with what I think I found out today.

The 58 b-block oil pan is a one year only part, so the chances of finding one are not very good, and it may not be a good pan for a 440 anyway. Hollander lists it as interchange number 160, pn1737768.

Hollander interchange number 179, pn 2268459 says it will interchange with the 160 if dipstick 2402841 is used. This pan is used on a lot of vehicles including Chrysler '59-64, DeSoto '59-61, Dodge Coronet, Royal and Custom Royal in '59, Dodge '60-61, Dodge 880 '62-64, Imperial '59-66, and Plymouth '59-61. So it looks like the local junk year has at least two possible donor cars, and think there may even be more. I'll try to get out there later this week and pull a pan and pick-up. I'll take some pictures and measurements is there is any interest. This may be old news to most of you but I couldn't find the answer by browsing the forum for several hours, and through the search function.
