Nice car but some inconsistencies re: resto.

Aren't I seeing rust on the trim piece?

Crinkle finish? Hmm...

For a car that they claim to be a full, but body on restoration, the engine compartment is not well done either. However it's a gorgeous looking car, in a beautiful color scheme too.

It is a very nice car but yeah I'd have to agree of the level of standard their write up brags kind of doesn't match the car. Well to a degree..... For the level they are portraying, I'd expect the underside of the hood sprayed and also no blue overspray.. I have no idea how much these cars are worth so someone might weigh in regarding that???

'55's don't sell for much in my neck of the woods. I'm not sure why because they are really nice looking cars. Maybe it is because of the lack of fins, smaller motors, or 6volt systems.....

What's a '55 DeSoto Fireflite 2HT worth?

In the condition this one appears to be, I've seen them advertised anywhere from the lower $20's to as high a $45K. Most of them have been in the $20's though. I personally like the '55 better than the '56 mainly because of the toothy grille that had been a DeSoto trademark for years and used to customize many other "off brand" cars. The 6 volt system should have been changed to 12 volt in the '55 Chrysler cars since it was the biggest style change Chrylser had up to that point and went to 12 volt for '56. I believe GM had 12 volt systems in their '55s.

Maybe someone should tell them that it's a 6V positive ground. They have the battery cables backwards.

Poor detailing on the car. Steering wheel is wrong, as is shifter. Seat material looks correct. Rare Plastic Bird is correct and super nice. Color is nice.

To claim that it's the nicest one anywhere is more than a stretch. I'd say 20K for this one. 55s don't bring the kind of money that late 50s Mopars get. Wish the pics weren't so dark.
