Location: Kansas City, KS | Nice 4 door hardtop with AC and a very solid looking body with decent original leather too.
Sadly, this is typical '57/'58 Imperial fate where the engine alone is worth more than a complete unrestored survivor. |

Location: Kansas City, KS | Same seller also has a 1958 4 door hardtop with dual air. He's selling that one complete with the engine.

Location: Houston | In fairness to the seller, he indicates the engine and trans could be had for added money.
He's actually doing a far better deed than most - pull the engine, let the rest sit around and rust forever or have it junked or demo derby'd. At least this way he's 'saving' the body and interior for soemone else to use. |

Location: Houston | As the owner of a modern 6.4L 'Hemi' car, I can tell you they are not as torquey as you'd expect. At least not in the 485HP form...maybe in the truck engine form.
It'd push the Imp around OK, but there would be many better engines for that sort of duty. The more I think about it, maybe a 6.4L truck engine would be better. |

| I have driven the 6.4 liter truck engine. Has nothing like the feel of the original HEMI, just feels like any old engine in any old modern day truck or car. Sure would pull Imperial fine but nothing like the feel of a 392. I talked to the seller on both these cars over a year and a half ago. He is finally getting closer to reality on pricing them. The 57 is pretty nice actually and would be my pick. |
