Hey guy have any recommendations for a starter and generator re builder? Running a 6 volt system.

John: Go to your local auto electric component rebuilder. Local is always better when it comes to heavy electrical parts.

Not sure about in the US, but here in Australia, its getting really hard (to impossible) to find
rebuild parts these days, especially for the vintage stuff.

Everyone just buys new now, mostly because the cost to rebuild and warrant things is more expensive than new replacement

Stuff that cant be bought new and only available second hand is getting rarer and pricey

I recently had to buy a set of alternator brushes to suit an "email" alternator off a Chrysler off ebay AU and they cost $17.00, they used to be a couple of bucks a set and
this set was the only set I found world wide

You will probably be ok, but be warned people, finding rebuilders is getting harder because no one supports them and everyone goes for the cheaper option
