Looks like a Spring Special color combination; would it have been available on a wagon?

Is that a D-500 emblem on the front fender?

Better question: Is this a 58 D-500 engine?

custom color, I think. The front fender emblem is the custom emblem used on the '57 sedan fin and '58 sedan fender. D-500 emblem would have been center of tail gate.
the air cleaner is all wrong and so may be the engine.

The first time I remember seeing an advertisement for this wagon, it was in Utah. Then it went to South Carolina, Maine and finally Connecticut.
I may have saved an image of the data plate.

This was my car for a few years and the body shop that repainted it filled the rockers with foam and hid the rust there. That is why I sold it a long time ago. I sold it to Guesswin motors in the Dakotas. I had the NOS fabric installed and the carpeting done too. There was no rust in the floor at all. The coral color is 1961 Plymouth. I thought it looked better than the all white it originally was. I never restored any mechanical issues other than a trans rebuild when i first got it home. 60crossram rebuilt it for me. The car came from Cedar City Utah, which is just north of St. George, and in the snow belt.
There was never a D500 emblem on the car, and if I recall, the Custom Sierra came with the big block. It was a good driver, and if i was not in the middle of restoring a loaded 57 DeSoto Explorer, I might be interested.

The air cleaner is 64-67 C body.
The engine is a low deck B motor and still has the 4 bolt valve covers so it may at least be era-correct for this car if not the original engine.

Scott, there are a bunch of threads about your wagon, aren't there? I did a quick search and found that one from a few years ago. It is a nifty wagon!
It seems like it had a really rough spare tire cover at one point - which you may have fixed. Good to see it again!

Don, is that four-bolt pattern unique to MoPar big blocks of this era?
It does have the front distributer, but that is not a unique identifier...

4 bolt valve covers were used until about 1964 on all the big block wedge engines: 350,413 361 and early 383. Then the 6 bolts took over. Marc.

I really loved that car, and I bought it with the carburetor off the car and no air cleaner. I moved the fan blade and verified that the engine was free, and rebuilt the carburetor, grabbed an air cleaner, rebuilt the transmission and off I drove. There was rust in the spare tire cover that was repaired by the same body shop that painted the car. It seemed to be ok when I sold the car. I have no idea how it was repaired, but I doubt it was metal fabricated like it should have been.
I cannot remember for sure, but if memory serves correctly, it was a big block 350 built in 1958. I always assumed that it was the correct motor, but I could be wrong.
My replacement car, a 57 Firesweep Explorer came from a leaky barn in Star valley Wyoming. The car is complete, but the car rusted through the roof, then through the "A" pillars and then through the floor, everywhere. I purchased a nearly rust free 57 dodge wagon body from Desert Valley, and in several more years should have it done.
This 58 is a wonderful car. I hope that it goes to someone who will appreciate it.
