Trying to determine what this old Mopar part could be. It is a short rubber tube with part number 162108 (DPCD)

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

It would help if you told us what car you think it came off of.

Typically (in my limited experience), most Mopar parts seem to have 7 digits not 6. If seven, they are arranged as nnnn nnn.

I ran 162108 through a 55-58 Chrysler, Desoto, Dodge, Plymouth 1268 page pdf as 1621 08 and the only 1621 08 came up as 1621 080 and it wasn't a rubber tube.

Standard parts like hardware, hoses, etc. often have a 6-digit or less number.

I knew that I would be corrected on that.

Still, knowing what the 6 digit part number came off of would help finding the answer.

I think a '56 Chrysler. Might be the tube in the door for the power windows?

:(

Should check the parts books from the early 1930's. They had four and five digit numbers. And the 1929 Plymouth model Q had part numbers beginning with "A". The seven digit numbers started around the end of WW II when they hit 999999.

All six digit numbers starting with 1 were for section 18 - Standard Parts. Part 162108 appeared sometime around 1940. Going by the car parts catalogues, bolts, screws, etc. were listed with such parts taillamps, trim, etc., and numbers around 162108 appeared at that time. I have the Canadian car parts catalogues for the master lists for 1933 and then 1934 through to 1968 (except 1946-48). And half a dozen or so truck books from the 1940's and 1950's, but no copy of the Standard Parts catalogue.

I have the October 1956 of the Standard Parts Catalog, and that number is not listed in the index. There are numbers higher and lower than it, so I'm assuming the tube is older than '56...
