I really want to go but might of left it too late. Booking for a hotel might be impossible. I also don't have faith in the Plymouth yet for that distance... I'll see if I can get the transmission and engine panned out in time.

I will be there booked accommodation yesterday and there were quite a few options so I think you would be right if you booked soon. No Forward Look for me, I'll be in my Valiant Pacer.

It's a MoPar it'll make it

I'm known by others to put to much trust in my cars but I have never had any problems (touch wood) I always tell people
it's a MoPar it will get you home only time we ever had a breakdown the car wouldn't start in our driveway so just jumped in another
turned out the dizzy gear lost a few teeth

Yeah we usually travel as a group about 10 to 12 MoPar's we leave about 4:30 first stop Pheasants Nest about 6am then stop at Yass
for breakfast about 8:30am then stop at Holbrook so the kids can play on the sub about 11:30am then in Albury by 12:30ish

I've just started to iron out most of it's problems but it still has a few that could leave me on the side of the road. When i first started taking it out (within a year) it would always be breaking down with some problem.

Too many cowboys have poked a stick at this car, including the ones over here that i have given good money to. I ended up doing the work myself which meant fixing what the mechanics had done or said they had done. Learning a lot but some things are out of my league at the moment or I have so little time.
Just getting my torqueflite problem worked out now...

The set up is a 1967 383 matched to a 1962 Trans with an 4 barrel Edelbrock... The rod setup they used was so bodged together that it never worked. I got a lokar cable setup which improved it so very much but still needs ironing out. When the transmission has been working hard (traffic and stopping and starting) it won't shift from 2nd to 3rd and also very occasionally won't go back to 1st after stop.
It could be a combo if needs more adjusting and bands or valve etc but I don't have enough knowledge or time to get it all to work.

I will actually be in Melbourne those dates. I'm there for a trade show. Looks like it's around 3 hours to drive up. If I could make it, what's the best day to go up?

Mike I think Saturday would be the best day and if you can go on into some of the night as well. Here's a flyer and it has the program guide as well.

I saw a 1958 Desoto Firesweep Convertible in a local festival parade and it so happens he has a workshop in my area. If only a new about him before being shafted twice! He also has a 300 and a mopar hotrod and a couple of mopar muscle.. He opened his mechanical shop in the early 70's.

Pete hows your car going?

Hi Matte, getting there slowly.
I have just put on the 4 barrel 600 Holley, next to go on will be the electronic distributor and the new rocker covers.
Have to sort out my brakes next, will get new shoes put on I think and maybe machine the drums. Have also got a new master cylinder coming as the one on it now is leaking.
After not much driving before I owned it its starting to losen up and all the little bugs start appearing, I expected that though so all good with that.
Hope you have a great trip to COTM, darn its a great show. So easy to spend 2 full days looking at all the beautiful Mopars.

I drove my 60 dodge down from Qld last year. Was a fun trip. Did Sydney peak hour in the rain, that was an adventure. Wont be going this year as my son is sick, but will be doing the trip next year.

Could be wrong but that looks like one end of ANZAC Bridge which leads into the city. I don't live far from that which is why my old girl gets cranky stuck in traffic!!! The soldier memorial is to honour our ANZACS but I guess all soldiers..

Hope all is good with your lad.

No the pic was actually nearing Albury but know the bridge you are referring too. Spend a bit of time in Sydney over the last few years Son is doing ok just trying to sort out his hearing. Ear issues are horrible. Makes it impossible for us to travel at present.

This sucks!!! I haven't even got my car to the workshop yet because of so much rain for the last 2 weeks.. He's only got a small workshop and I don't want it sitting out in the rain.. I know it leaks down the rear window into the boot area and I'm also dubious about the trim fittings along the roof.

I took note to Anzac [Australian,New Zealand Army Corp ] we've have little town here also with the same name near FT.McMURRY Ab. and it still has the siren that sounds at 9:00 pm every evening in remembrance of the Corp that was established there. I didn't realize there was one down under.Have fun at the cruise.

So is the name of the town Newcastle ?

We don't have a town called ANZAC but rather a lot of memorials spread out through Australia dedicated to the ANZACS. We also celebrate ANZAC day with marching through the streets of cities and towns by our veterans. That's pretty cool that their is a town in Canada called ANZAC and it still sounds a horn every night in remembrance. I wonder if it's the whole Monarchy thing.

Just got home after a weekend in Albury for Chryslers on the Murray, they had almost 800 cars attend this year for the 25th Anniversary. A few of the Forward Looks attending are below;

I've seen more cars in this page than I did at the actual event !  There ws a spotlight on FWDLK cars there 4 or 5 years ago and it was hard to beat; everyone crawled out of the woodwork....

the light blue 57 belvedere was the star of the show for me !

Yeah the 57 was my favourite the only other car I was drawn to was a VIP Valiant was white looked standard we cruised behind it doing 60kph Saturday night the guy hit the hammer & it left 2 black tracks. When I seen it Sunday it had a stroked 318 fuel injected turbo motor went real hard.

I was unsure whether to post that Imperial as I thought it might ruffle feathers being a 62
