In Mopar Muscle Magazine, dated April 2017. they talk about a 426 cube poly that has a LA318 block at its heart and puts out in excess of 550 HP! It uses the Wind Tunnel intake manifold.

In Hot Rod of March 2017 they cover a 402 CID block with LS7 Hilborn fuel injection making 600 HP!

Marc.

Although it is possible to swap heads, and has been done both directions many times, I'd question the LA block. May have been a typo; I can't find a direct link to the magazine on line.
For anyone interested in what can be done it is best to talk with Gary Pavlovich to get the scoop.

As to making big power with the LA318, Engine Builder Magazine (a trade publication)(www.enginebuildermag.com) built a small-monster awhile back with off-the-shelf-parts. Look in the December 2014 area.

An LA is a wedge, not a Poly.....

The underlying thought is that putting 'A' series Poly heads on an 318-LA block is a waste of time and money. Zero gain. It is still an LA block.
•The Poly cam must still be used.
•The LA stroker crank interchanges with post-62 'A' blocks so there is no LA block advantage.

Perhaps the Poly head swap on a 360 could be cheaper than a small stroker crank in the A block.

426 LA/A = 550 hp and a cool engine, Trouble maker.
