You're right. It should be a raised block 383 (like 413 and 440). Just take a look at the pad by the distributor. There should be some numbers stamped there that will tell you for sure.

If it is the white car that I am thinking of, you got a great deal on what looks like a great car. Congratulations.

My 161 Chrysler Windsor has an original 361. Since mine was built in Canada, I am guessing that your was buit there also.

I can't make a link live for some reason- but copy and paste this-owner staes it was built in Canada and has a 361.

The Dodge chrome foil interior door panels are a giveaway.

If your car is US built it definitely came with a 383RB engine originally. If it is that black four door hardtop with a white vinyl interior, it's a US car. How about posting some pictures?

Yessiree - one of the best there is and ever was. The Astra Dome instrument cluster falls into the same category as far as I'm concerned.

That's a US built car. The engine should be a raised block 383. If you look at the casting to the right of the distributor there should be a raised boss with a stamping on it. The Low block 383 or 361 engines don' t have that boss. See the attached photo the area circled in black is the boss.

Nice car indeed! It was discussed on this forum a few days ago http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64427&... If you got it at that price it was a STEAL!!!

Good work Michael, you obviously have impeccable taste in cars! Two words for you......more pictures.

Keen for the update on the engine model too. Maybe someone planted a B in there?

Steve.
