I just finished watching a 1959 post apocalypse movie on TCM, "The World, the Flesh and the Devil" with Harry Belafonte, Inger Stevens and Mel Ferrer. There are only the three charters in the entire movie, but it features great footage of a brand new '58 300-D convertible, a 58 Custom Royal convertible and some great stills of an abandoned 58 Imperial Crown Coupe. Lots of other abandoned vehicles are shown as well, with quite a few abandoned Forward Looks.

The 300-D comes in around 13:44 on this first clip.

I just watched it also, great FWLK cars in it including a Dodge pickup and Plymouth taxi.

How about the scene with all the cars gridlocked on the bridge? Lots of eye candy for an old car nut.

what a tragedy, armageddon before the 1960 models came out
funny, i always loved a similar scene, as a kid, in the film "the omega man" from the early 70s when charlton heston drives a 60s/70s muscle car (mustang?) thru the dealer window and always thought this would have been much better with a finned chrysler, not knowing this scene actually exists. thanks for sharing!

It was a 1970 Ford Mustang convertible that Charleton Heston drove out through the dealership window. He was probably inspired by a similar scene in the earlier movie. It does work better though with a finned FL car.

I thought that was kinda silly, most dealers had the new car keys hanging on a board in a manager's office.
