Please excuse the following simple question for I am a novice with the ball and trunnion universal joint.

I have to remove my transmission in a 1959 Desoto and know that the driveshaft has to be removed first. I assume that I disconnect the drive shaft at the rear of the propeller shaft first.

After that do I just undo the 9/16 nuts on the front of the propeller shaft and pull the drive line out from the bolts?

This is probably a very dumb question for most of you but I want to make sure of the proper steps involved. Thank you.

Might be a bit late, but when you remove the rear universal joint, if you're not planning on changing it, wrap some tape around the joint to save the caps coming off and loosing the needle roller bearings inside?
