Location: ST. Stephen NB Canada | I'm looking for input regarding valve seal options. I have a 55 Dodge Royal, with the original 270 Hemi . I want to install valve seals, & really don't want to remove the heads . Regular umbrella seals are out because of double valve springs. So, my questions: 1.I have 3/8 oring seals, they are not square cut, but smooth round, will these work? 2. Is there a small umbrella type that will fit my inner spring clearance,(0.690 -0.710) ? 3. Are there positive stop seals that do not need machine work on the valve guides ? I don't have smoke when I back off coming down a hill,so I'm thinking the guides are Ok . Any advise is appreciated. Thanks. Loo |

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I do NOT know the answers to your questions BUT I might be in the same boat. The PN for the valve seals in my 56 CR V8 seem to be 1630241. A quick search on that number found a few things including these:

Location: NorCal | The 270 has 3/8" valve stems. You need to measure the actual O.D. of your valve guides to know what will fit, this looks promising:
