I have a 58 DeSoto Firedome 2dr hardtop and the roof is in pretty sorry shape and I need to replace it. It has the small rear window. Does anyone know what it interchanges with, besides 57 DeSoto. Do Chryslers have the same roof? Thanks

Yes, '57-'58 Chrysler & Desoto for sure, maybe even '59. This includes the Firesweep and Windsor.

Yup, 57-59 Desoto and Chrysler roofs should all interchange. Also, if you were replacing a roof, there's no reason you couldn't go with a high back window if it was something you wanted to do.

One caveat though. Only 2dr hardtops. That limits your availability considerably.

We do have a 1957-59 DeSoto roof here in Phoenix from a car we parted out probably 20 years ago with the big back window.

But...didn't the windshield change to the bubble design on the 58-59 Chrysler and DeSoto hardtop bodies? I know that it did in the Chrysler; I assume the DeSoto, sharing the same body, followed as well...

Good point Miguel. Yes, the trim was different in '57 and the roof at the front edge is quite different compared to '58-'59.

Thanks for the info guys, very helpful. That gives me a wider "pool" of cars to get one from. I need the small back window, if anyone has one. My roof is badly dented and rusty and it's a lot easier to just replace it.
