Hi all.
Anyone know , or can check , what the ohm reading should be at my engine temp sending unit on my "59 Imperial w 413 ?? I bet most forwardlook cars use the same unit. My guage works (goes full scale when sender wire is grounded).
Warmed up I am seeing 180 Ohms at 180 Degrees !!! Yet my guage reads very low. My guess is the ohms at 180 degrees should be lower -- like maybe 120 ???

Well -- I answered my own Q !! Ran my '60 Imp while looking at the ohm values -- I got about 30 ohms at 160 , 20 ohms at 185 degrees.
So Cold to Hot is about 40 to 20 ohms.

I am guessing that the PN is 1507050 as shown below. That might lead you to spec on ohms versus temp

Or it could be a 4051140 or one of these (sorry, I thought I would find the unique PN and nope, bunches of them):

The lower the resistance, the higher the gauge will read. If the wire is removed from the sender and grounded (zero resistance) the gauge will climb to full scale.
