Good Day,

I am new to the forward look cars. I am an A and E body guy... with some 70s B bodys mixed in over the years. First car was a 69 340 Swinger Dart I rescued from a junk yard for $400, and still have a 70 'Cuda.

I recently picked up a beautiful (in my opinion) 1960 Chrysler Windsor. The car is in magnificent shape. Original paint, no body work I could detect. One dent in the rear left tail panel that is pretty minor. The trunk floor is rusted, due to carpet being installed in the trunk about 20 years ago. The rest of the car is rust free! Even the trunk extensions are clean. There might be a little rust near the drains on the fenders, but all superficial.

The car is a one owner (in family) car. The family was very sad when it left, and many family members called to voice their sadness of the "batmobile" leaving. Evidently all of the family used the car as a wedding vehicle. hmmm... Clorox? Anyway, it is 99% original, with the only additions I could find as some "back lot" fixes for a couple loose trim pieces and a set of old school coil overs in the back to fix sagging springs.

I am a local CO guy. If any of you would be interested in grabbing coffee or a beer sometime, hit me up. I need to do some learning about these older MoPars.

Awesome, Michael! Great car. Great year and great body style! There's a group of us who get together for breakfast each year before the Tri-State swap meet. We have also done a few cruises in the past. I am happy you found us and welcome to the site. If you are interested in getting together, please name a time an place and we can make it happen!

The more you post in the Rocky Mountain Region, the better it is. We can try to help you with anything related to your Chrysler. There are quite a few around here who also know about the later-model MoPars too.

Egads! Those are 2009 stickers on the plates! We need to get that back out on the road. It is way too nice to hide in the garage!

I've put formatting around your photos like this [img src="yourphotourl.jpg "] where [ =< and ] = > so every one can see your photos at once, without clicking

We should come to you! Once we did a cruise in the Garden of the Gods.
We stopped for lunch at the Golden Bee - you just can't beat Colorado Springs for all-around awesomeness!

The last time I was in the Springs, I had a black-and-tan yard at the Bee.
My wife and kids and I stayed at the BroAdmoor (off season) and we went to the Cheyenne Mountain zoo and Seven Falls.
We have some other members in Colorado Springs.

Are you a member of Southern MoPar?

Howdy, New Guy --
I don't know if you've been around to any of the cruise-ins in the Colorado Springs area (i.e., 1st and Main on Powers or Saturday PM on Austin Bluffs) or any of the local shows (such as MOPARS at Thunder Mountain, Good Times on Colorado Avenue, the Abbey in Canon City), but I have been thereabouts on a few occasions with my Big-Tailed Beast and MD2. The Beast is kinda stand-outish because it is a blue/white '60 Fury 2-dr H/T with the 2X4X carbed cross-ram SonoRamic Commando engine. The even bigger MD2 (Moby Dick II, or the second Great White Whale) is an all-white '57 300C with the 375 HP/392 CID Hemi, also with 2X4V carbs, but with an in-line manifold and "saddlebag" air cleaners. I have just recently acquired a '65 Medium Red Metallic Sport Fury 2-dr H/T with the 365 horse 426-S mill and 4-speed, but I've just had it at the October First Saturday cruise at 1st and Main. Possibly you may have seen one of these around and I was the old fudd generally close by. I can't recall seeing a black Chrysler 4-dr H/T around, so I'm sorry if I've missed you, as I am especially interested in '67 and earlier MoPars, especially the muscle ones and the earlier flathead-6s.
If you're not a member, the Southern Colorado MOPARs' next regularly scheduled meeting is at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Perkins Chrysler on Motor City Drive.
Joe Godec
PS, I know this sounds like apostasy or blasphemy on this site, but I also have a red '65 fuel-injected Vette droptop that you may have seen or heard (no mufflers -- just the side-mount exhaust).

Sounds fun! I am not a member of any mopar groups... I grew up here, but have been out of state for the past 5 years or so.

I'm in the Colorado Springs area (Falcon), but my car (1957 Dodge Coronet 2 DR HT) is currently in for paint and chrome ($2,700 just to chrome the bumpers, and 35% more if I want show chrome!).

What a great find in your 1960 Chrysler Windsor! Would love to see it in person.

Sounds good, Don.

We will have to do a CO and Co Springs get together sometime.

Currently the car is going to get coolant changed, brakes checked, fluids checked, new battery, generator check, etc. Then it is going to get registered!

I am looking for a choke plate for the 2bbl Carter on it... as it is one of the only MIA parts if anybody knows a yard or online place I could find the choke plate. The rest of the choke system is there, but somebody removed the plate itself.

Howdy Mike --
Welcome to the Rocky Mt Group. Lots of knowledgeable guys here.
I'm in Aurora. The lovely Delores Desoto & I have been a couple since '98. She has suffered through several hibernations over that time. Finished the bodywork & delicious Red & Silver paint about 2 years ago. Mechanical work was done by the wizards at Mopower Garage. Current problem is 16 year old Coker 3" Wide Whites. Planning to replace them this Spring. Next is the interior but that's going to require a bigger budget.
Still looking for the choke plate? I have the original 2 bbl she was born with. I switched her to 4 bbl & the old carb is sitting on a shelf in my garage.
Welcome again. Looking forward to meeting you & seeing the car.
Later.

Hey Mike,
Don't know if you've met up with other moparers yet or not but I am in if we can get some guys together. Lancer Mike is a super neat guy with an equally impressive DeSoto. I have met his buddy Chris and would like to get to know him better. What part of town are you located in. I live up by Conifer, but am in the Denver area quite often. I have a '57 Windsor wagon and a '61 DeSoto, both of which haven't seen the road in many years. I have other cars also but not worth mentioning on this site. I just love cars in general. Your '60 Windsor looks super clean and I would like to check it out. Let's see if we can get together.

Colorado guys, any recommendations on an exhaust shop that is willing to do a nice job? My exhaust is pretty holey from the muffler back and I would like to replace it from the manifold back.

Hi, Michael:

There was only one place to go in Denver:
Bud's Muffler.
It's been a while since I have been there,
but they were excellent.

I guess they have a Colorado Springs location too.
Don't know anything about that one.

Check the Local Vendor thread.

Lads --
Bud's Muffler on Circle Drive have done work for me on both my '60 Fury and my '65 Sport Fury and I was happy with it. There wasn't that much done on either car, but the guys there are gearheads who've been around for a while.
An interesting car that they were working on last week was a '59 Vette body set on a custom frame with a LS-3 crate engine, 6-speed trans, and something like an $8000 independent rear suspension. So at least someone other than me thinks they're competent.
