Member Posts: 40 Location: Rochester,New York | Hi guys, thought I'd post my wagon I got a couple months back, pretty solid only a couple areas need patching, power brakes/steering, rumoured to be a dual quad car, almost everything works on it including the rear electric window, radio, wiper, fan, interior and exterior lights all work, seats are in good shape except the front, headliner is gone, and had an impact on the driver side quarter panel that needs work, other than that it's a absolute great candidate to be a Christine look alike wagon ;) href="http://s1174.photobucket.com/user/crazy58fury/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160919_184239085.jpg.html" target="_blank"> Edited by crazy58fury 2016-11-28 1:55 PM

Expert Posts: 1740 Location: Alaska | I believe you could not get the 318 dual quad engine in anything but a Fury in 57 or 58. You could get the 350 dual quad engine in other body styles in 58 so if it had dual quads at one time they were installed be a previous owner, not the factory.

Elite Veteran Posts: 705 Location: California | Yup you could. It was the Fury V 800 package. A Mopar collector in San Diego had a 57 savoy 4 Dr sedan of all things with it. Had the fury chassis, engine , torquflite, and 150 speedo. Was unrestored. It was sky blue. Any one here know where it went?

Elite Veteran Posts: 626 Location: Lubbock, TX | You could also look at the camshaft, should be the Fury V800 profile. I have also spoken to quite a few old timers who would swear on their mother's grave that there were 4dr and 2dr sedans, and even a wagon or two, delivered new with the dual-quad 318 in 1957. ~Peter

Member Posts: 40 Location: Rochester,New York | Also just pulled the motor since it needs a rebuild and isn't in the best of shape so I'm going to put my 318 from my 4 dr in it so I can drive it around in the spring Edited by crazy58fury 2016-12-09 10:05 AM

Expert Posts: 1740 Location: Alaska | Looks like the front end was changed because of rust out. How bad is the rest of the body?

From what I was told it was because the way the factory sprayed several less layers of paint on the front clips, so was told it is the original front end, it's pretty good not to bad, has some common areas but nothing serious

Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | The 'Fury V-800' option package was available in every model of Plymouth in 1957. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Handygun - 2016-12-12 6:57 PM I wonder what the "big heads" in the second ad means? I presumed that it meant that the V800 heads had bigger valves. They might but I could not find *ANY* specs for 1957 Plymouth V8 engines regarding valve sizing.
