I am trying to find if the insulation in the trunk lid should be body color or left natural. I have two lids, one was painted when the car was painted and the other looks a natural color that is real dark, and the lid is light green. I am not sure what the green lid is off of. I found a place on ebay that has replacement material and it is a dark color.
Thank you

I think from the light green lid I have, if it had any overspray, It should show up. I will look it over closer in the morning but I think somehow they kept the paint off them.

Thank you!!

I had seen that white car and would assume from that the insulation was not covered. Thank you

Trunk lid insullation was an oil soaked material. When the inside of the lid was painted during production, the color soaked into the mat virtually disappearing depending on the length of time the employee focused the gun. If a lid interior got repainted, the mat was now older and drying out and the paint started appearing. Repaints of INTERIOR panels were often for color change so much more paint was applied and with that the new color surely appeared on the mat.
