| Hey guys, kind of a dumb question, but when I went to fill my trans, fluid started leaking out of the plate where the speedo cable belongs. I don't have a cable, and the car isn't going to be on the road for a while - any way I can plug this opening without having to buy a new cable assy yet? I have the pinion, but it needs a new inner seal.
Trans is out of a 64 NYer, automatic.
Thanks for any input you can offer!

The hole size is 31/32" so this should work.

| Thanks, I'll look for that! Do you know if I can just pry out whatever is currently in there? The hold-down is removed, but it didn't move by hand... |

What's in there now is probably the broken off end of the speedo cable, it pulls straight out once the hold-down is removed. The O ring is probably holding it in tight.
