Hi. Have a day / night mirror in my 57 ply that the mirror glass has lost a lot of its silvering. Can these be restored? Can the glass be removed from the housing?

someone asked this question a few years ago, so it should be in the archives somewhere. I had one of theses a long time ago and I couldn't find a way to remove the glass out of it with out damaging the frame to restore the mirror.
