I can't figure out how to remove the reflectors from the tail fin mount on my 1957 Dodge. Are these just glued in? Will a solvent loosen them up so that they come out? Need to get the mounts rechromed.

The reflectors are just glued in ,but the trick is to get them out without damaging the reflector ,I have seen the reflector missing on 57 Dodges and noticed the Glue .

I don't know if solvent would loosen them up but the without damaging the face of the reflector I was thinking of drilling a small hole from the backside without damaging the reflector and trying to push them out ,but I haven't tried that yet ,Maybe someone else has an idea .

Are they glass or plastic(I have a Desoto)? If glass, a propane torch?

If plastic, I wouldn't try denatured alcohol or acetone either

drill hole, place liquid in back to remove industrial glue and push?  When putting them back I would look at putting a bolt in there(hard to make sure you centered your first drill hole.

We need someone to measure it after they get it off.
