While I continue to look for a proper red 56 D500 oil bath air cleaner, I bought a 14" round chrome air cleaner. I've adapted it to work on the Carter WCFB with a 4 7/32" to 5 1/8" Mr. Gasket curved/tapered adapter and 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" Trans Adapt brand 1" spacer ring.

To dress up the chrome air cleaner I was *thinking* (just thinking for now) of a sticker, like the one below, based on the 426 Hemi aircleaner sticker (also shown for comparison). I don't know what the proper font should be (I used Arial "Black" (in white) for the trial.)

Fell asleep thinking about this modification. Still a mock-up/trial

Well, even if when/I get a proper D500 air cleaner or I am able to modify the Chrysler air cleaner that I bought from Marty, I'm not sure if I wouldn't still think very hard about this option (with the sticker colour laser-printed on top an 8.5" x 11" sticky label sheet. The radius could use a tiny tweak and the "Hemi Head" Font need to be crisper (I started with a jpg off the internet).

(That's a chrome pie plate, not black)

In the end, I just had what I had created in PAINT (the program, not the liquid) printed on a big vinyl (8.5 x 11) sticker sheet on a colour laser printer. Looks pretty good to me. (I am still working on an OE air cleaner (with 2 stacked FRAM paper filters)

Nice progress! Did 'paint' let you cut and paste the numbers?

Each number was placed individually in Paint. I used a white font (can't remember the size or type face)) and adjusted the base (six times) in Irfanview (which has a custom rotation option (to +/- 0.1 degrees if I remember correctly) so the number I was working on was square to the rotated base. It was very cumbersome but it worked. To create a "325 hemi" sticker, I could start with the final "315 hemi" and do two separate rotations to black out the "1" and replace it with a white "2".

I am sure that it would be easier in Photoshop (but I don't have that).

Here are two example steps, starting with the base and then the placement of the first "1" and then the first "5"
