Location: Cochrane, Alberta | Got brand new door panels made for my 56 regent; they look fantastic!
All of my old door panels had been taken off over the years and put back on differently.
Behind the window crank there is a big washer and a tapered spring. On some of my panels the spring is on top of the door panel under the window crank (which would push the door panel away from the handle) and some had the spring under the door panel between the door itself and the back of the panel (pushing the panel tight against the crank handle base).
Can anyone tell me which is correct before I install my brand new panels? |

Location: Ponder, TX | The spring goes behind the panel, with the wide side facing out. The plastic washer fits between the handle and the panel. |

Location: Cochrane, Alberta | Thanks for that info gents; one more question so I get things back on factory correct.
My car is a 4 door; I know the door handle mount facing downward (not horizontal as most are), but what is the correct way to orientate the window cranks on the front and rear doors with the windows up? |
