Up for auction is my 1958 Dodge Custom Royal, It is a factory Right Hand Drive. It was built at Chrysler in SA where approx 250 of these were imported in kit form which makes these cars very rare, I believe there are approx 5 in the country, however not 100%.

It is an unusual build as it has a 1959 Boot lid and rear bar. It was sold by Harden and Johnson in NSW when new and it still has the tag in the engine bay along with other info.I have restored the car but NOT a chassis off build I did it as a driver car not a show car. As you can see in the photos a lot of work has been done, new chrome, interior, wheels and tyres, windscreen, carpet, and other work to the body and mechanical.
The car drives very well and has plenty of torque with the Big Block 413 cu in engine but keep in mind it does NOT drive like a new car. It does NOT have power steering and stops with 4 wheel drum brakes. It is an old car but it is great to drive and where ever I go I get plenty of waves and thumbs up. It does has some issues, the engine has a noise which my mechanic and myself not certain what it is but does not affect performance or oil pressure which runs at 60 psi it gets quieter when it gets worm.
There is an oil leak from the rear engine main seal and a slight leak from the oil pump ( gasket ).Anyway have a look at the photos and decide for your self.
The buyer will be responsible for Ebay fees that will be included in the final price. Just to mention I can arrange transport of the car at a reasonable cost even interstate
I can be contacted on 03 5335576 or 0413351557 I will be happy to answer ant questions or concerns
Regards John

Lose the wheels.

Also factor in the ebay costs to his reserve price using the % what he hopes the car sells for. I must be getting old and cranky but it annoys me when I read "buyer to pay for eBay or paypal costs".. Sell it on gumtree or some other free ads if paying to sell on the most popular and convenient selling/auction site. I'm not saying it can't be done but just don't write it. As I said forecast the costs and put it into the reserve..

When I first saw the post, I thought you had thrown in the towel on your car Laurie and getting rid of it but then realised this is a 58 and also in another State.

See, on your car they look good. I don't know if it's the shape, or colour of your car but the mags suit it. Maybe if the tyres weren't WW it would look ok but now it just reminds me of a hot wheels car..

Now, the owner has followed your suggestion and changed the wheels:
And I have to agree with the sales pitch :- "I can't believe this right hand drive Australian delivery has not sold compared to all the LHD crap out there."

Yeah I take it back now. The WW tyres doesn't look right..

That dizzy gives away it's a big block and I'm quite surprised the owner hasn't found out what it is after being told it's not a 318.

I wish him luck

Mine above sold for not much more than his base price

There are a lot of American car enthusiasts I have spoken to that dislike RHD US cars (personally, I prefer it)

Best place to sell it would be car shows, mostly because a lot of people do not know what these cars are, and therefor don't look for them specifically

Tri 5 chevies and mustangs (except the funny little front wheel drive ones, fox bodies I think) are well known and easier to sell, except
for the amount of other ones for sale that your competing against
