I need to find out how the jack assembly is stored inside the trunk, especially a 2-door body.
Thanks |

Location: Branson, MO | I'm surprised no one answered your question - I'm not totally sure but I'm giving it a try: I'm pretty sure the jack is stowed between the spare tire and inner fender but I don't know if it was the whole assembly or without the base. It was probably secured with a spring that stretched from part of the jack to a provision on the trunk floor or wheel well.
Like I said, I'm not an expert so someone else might want to help and even provide a picture.

Location: Falcon, CO | The owner of the Belvedere opened the owner's manual but it's not clear and doesn't provide any instructions. Any retainer, whether a spring or clip is missing. Yes, a photo would help, I assume that this board has at least one owner of a 1955-56 Plymouth or Dodge hardtop or sedan that could provide some info. |

Location: Buena Park, CA | Neither of my cars had the original jacks but I have some pictures that I have been hunting for the shows everything and how it all goes together. I saw your post a couple of days ago, but I haven't been able to locate the pictures yet. I will see what I can find. |

Location: Falcon, CO | Thanks David, that pic explains a lot especially the spring (which is missing). Your jack shaft is tubular while my friend's is a forged shaft, but then he doesn't know if it was original. On the jack that I blasted and painted has a riveted hook to the mechanism.

Location: Falcon, CO | Your hook should clipped on the pin in the middle, the spring probably holds in place. |
