Extreme Veteran Posts: 309 Location: Western Colorado | I will be paying $1,400.00, plus insured freight which will bring it just under $1,500.00. My wheel for the 58 N/Y'er wagon, should be done in the next month. It will be totally recast. They completely strip the wheel to bare metal, blast, repair any flaws in the steel wheel and then recast and hand finish the wheel. D&D Automobilia, 704-748-3447, is doing mine. I've seen several of their wheels and they are beautiful. I'm sure mine will be also. They are very busy, so one needs to be prepared to wait at least 6 months. Bob

Expert Posts: 2788 Location: USA - KY | D&D Automobilia recast a new steering wheel for my car (the re-chroming of the horn ring was done elsewhere0. My car's steering wheel is a tad more plain than some of the examples above, and the cost was approx. $1,300.00 (about 1,750.00 AUD) including shipping, about 3 years ago. The workmanship was perfection. Good luck with the new business!

Veteran Posts: 103 Location: Phoenix, Arizona | JB Donaldson, American Fiberglass here in Phoenix cast a beautiful 1960 300F steering wheel for us years ago and I think I paid $1750 then, over 10 years ago. He later did a 1960 Polara wheel, also beautiful except for the colored part that was supposed to be red was green! He did redo it and I think it was also $1750. Next he did a 1951 Muntz Jet, the color was too dark but he will not redo it and I paid him $1400 to make a mold and another $1250 to recast a 1957 Adventurer steering wheel, for a total of $2650!!! And he did not get the marbleized goldisch-green color right at all. It is difficult but I was not happy and I'm not having any more wheels done by him. Bo.

Veteran Posts: 197 Location: Mid Michigan | Just a question . Anyone know the color combo of the flake used on a 61 Plymouth Areo wheel . Wondered if they used silver and gold flake or just silver flake in the clear ? Phil
