Location: North Australia | I read about Harry leaving us last night. Thanks for letting me know. I met Harry on this site, and I also met him in person at Carlisle last year, and I am glad for both opportunities. Rest In Peace Mate. Steve.

Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | Thank you for the flower arrangement that arrived this afternoon. It is a beautiful arrangement of dahlias, mums, and roses in various shades of pink and purple - my favorite colors. Thank you all for your continuing remarks - it makes life a little bit easier now that I only have four walls and two old crippled dogs to talk to right now. The house is so quiet without the steady noise of Harry's concentrator running 24/7 and the TV on all day long. Since I do not know what any of you are planning to do while at Carlisle this year, I know of a diner on the edge of Carlisle on Route 74 South which reopened about a year ago with new management. We could have a pay your own way get together there during the show. I like it because it is not fancy, the food is decent, not expensive, there is a separate meeting room to reserve on short notice, not far from the fairgrounds, good air conditioning, good cold sweet tea, and most important of all, lots of room to park the cars away from everybody else yet close to the front door - the parking lot is L shaped. If you want it, tell me when, and I will reserve it for the FL even if I do not go to the show. Claudia

Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | Since most of the Rugh clan is in the western Pennsylvania area, Harry's brother Ken has volunteered to organize a memorial service for Harry on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 June 18, 2016 at the Harrison City Church of Christ in Harrison City, Pennsylvania. All are welcome. Of course, I will be there. Claudia

Expert Posts: 1231 Location: York County, PA | Thank you for your intimate words, Steve. But I have a little bit different perspective forged a long time ago. In 2005 he was incorrectly diagnosed in York, PA with high dysplasia of the esophagus, the next thing to cancer. Even though it was correctly diagnosed in Pittsburgh as esophagitis and a hiatal hernia (all surgically repaired successfully), you would think one would strive to improve ones habits a/k/a no smoking. The denial Harry exhibited regarding the relationship of smoking to cancer caused me to shed my tears of frustration in 2006, not now. When he quit smoking in 2013, he was diagnosed with end stage COPD. Since then, it has merely been a matter of time. The cancer was merely the icing on the cake. For myself, ten years of frustration have finally come to a close. I may be 62, a displaced homemaker, but with God's love I will step up into another role with purpose in His eyes.
