Does anyone have the instructions on the steering wheel horn ring removal for the 57 Dodge. It's probably very simple and that's got me stumped. I couldn't find it in the service manuals either"not a good forward look day for me" LOL. Photos would be good of the removal with instruction THX

Looks like a couple screws from the back of the steering wheel need to be removed.

That was my thought, but these seem to be removed and the ring cannot be freed from the wheel it just rocks back and forth I thought there maybe a magic twist required or something. Thanks for the forum review of the steering wheel discussion obviously I'm the only one who doesn't know how to pull off the ring... da! Everyone has pictures of them on the bench LOL . I'll try my other car tomorrow with the donor steering wheel.

Those screws can be very difficult to line up with a screwdriver. They are a fairly large domed #2 Phillips head. Use a straight shanked driver not one that houses a hex tip. The heads don't always line up with the holes in the wheel. Feel around! You'll get 'em!

Thanks, Greg for the advise and encouragement my eyes are dim in close quarters. You're exactly right with the description of screws lining up with the access holes in the back of the stewing wheel. I turned the wheel 180 degrees so that I could look down at them and with the help of a flashlight this time it was a success. I have the wheel off now and onto the next problem the steering column is left to right, the signal light lever access whole is on the right side when you sit behind the wheel.I'm suspecting it has been changed and installed incorrectly LOL

I think, all you need to do is loosen the clamp ( column to steering gear) and turn it 180. Just watch the turn signal wiring harness as you turn. Be careful not to chafe them with sharp edges. You may need to disconnect, re-orient them. Could be why someone assembled things 180 off!!
