Location: Sydney, Australia | When you say stamp on drivers side head, is that at the front of the head? Are there definitely no more characters to the left of 408824? EXAMPLE: 4M318 408824... |

Location: Sydney, Australia | If you have no luck from below the head depending on if it's a later 318 you might find a casting date and time on the passenger side of the block, above the oil pan.. So you will have to go in from underneath.. |

OK guys, just found some #'s. Passenger side on head just below valve cover 8D1-48910C
Should be a letter before the "8D1".
In any case, the "C" at the end means it was built at Chrysler of Canada's Windsor engine plant.
It was the 38,910th engine built that model year.
The "8" means V8 (naturally).
The "D1" is for Dodge or Fargo Truck, D-100 series.
Now, if you can read the letter(s) before the "8D1" I will be able to determine the model year.
