That car is in amazing shape - with a 3 speed manual!. Very nice. But the flesh color pink really does make it look like a plucked chicken. It would look a lot better in black like Andrew's car.

There was another one of these 4dr three speed cars that came up, about a year or two ago on Montana Craiglist. One owner car that time had forgotten in a detached garage. I spoke with the seller a couple of times and the story was something like the husband bought the car, died, the wife couldn't or didn't like the manual trans so she parked it. Years go by and the wife dies and no one knows about the car in the garage. The estate sits for another few decades and just before the garage is about to be torn down a thoughtful worker thinks to look inside. Same car as we have here but the one out of Montana recently sold at auction for $30,000.

That is the same car. If you look at the eBay ad in the trunk you can see the lot number from the barret Jackson auction. The guy tried selling this car in Mintana for $15,000 for years... Was on eBay a few times never made it to reserve. How it got to 30k at barret Jackson is beyond me. I can't see that car ever selling for that price tag.

Is the black car a manual transmission? I've wanted a stick shift Newport with dogdish caps for some time.

Brilliant! I didn't notice the lot number on the sign. I offered him $10,000 at one point and he said "no". Montana is within flying and driving distance to me. I was flabbergasted when I saw the auction results!

The black car is not a manual trans car. I've wanted a base model Newport for some time now and when this one came up I jumped on it.

Dealer said he had had it up for three days when I found it. I bought it sight unseen, other than the pictures provided on the web site. Kinda wish I had flown out to see it in person though. Oh well, live and learn I suppose. It's not horrible just not worth what I ended up paying for it. (meaning I could'a got a better deal, not trying to make money on this)

It's got a couple of bad freeze plugs and the dealer did a horrible job "detailing" the engine compartment. He painted everything black then painted the block post 1967 Chrysler blue, spray painted the alt., dist. and the carb silver and topped it off with gold air cleaner and valve covers. Good grief! Fedex just dropped off a quart of turquoise from Bill Hirsch and I'll have that engine and compartment looking like new here in a couple of weeks!

Ah I see...sight unseen is 50/50. The few times I've done it...I've been lied to or screwed out of things...never understood why people did stuff like that...

I got a '62 Newport. The previous owner did some ridiculous stuff to the car. They painted the door panels, armrests, window surrounds and everything bright blue. Car originally had the gold/champagne colored interior. Radio hogged out for an aftermarket radio...but the Electroluminescence lighting works! Then there's some scary stuff going on under the hood...

I did get her running and she does move and has brakes. I just really want a 3 speed Newport!

Saw this one on the side of the road today, and searched it up when i got home. It looked pretty presentable, though I didn't check it over closely. Automatic $5750:

Guy is open to offers. Could be a steal if it's as decent as it looks. I'd want an inspection done before purchasing.
