Expert Posts: 1493 Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | I made a bunch of these out of resin, and gave them away to FL members, to be nice. People actually complained to me for giving them free stuff, including covering postage-- because they were plastic. They were FREE. If you want a RESIN one, let me know. I'll send you one for the cost of postage and supplies ($15), in exchange, no one be rude. No good deed goes unpunished, and that was one of my more unpleasant experiences with this site.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | Where were you when I needed a couple These do take time, they are made of poly, dremeled, painted and cleared coated with screws molded in. It takes a fair amount of work for the final product, casting is the easy part. Edited by mikes2nd 2016-04-17 11:33 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | Paul Hettick - 2016-04-16 5:37 PM If they are resin beware. Any reason why? It's better than paying some of the ridiculous prices I've seen some of these V's being asked. Then again, that's why they still have them and didn't sell.

People are getting worse with manners and appreciating someones efforts.. A couple of months ago someone was asking about tyres and because he was getting conflicting answers I sent him a pm. I used to be in the tyre trade so I explained the how's and what if's etc. I also passed a nice comment about his car.. Now I went out of my way to give him an answer instead of just MY opinion but not even a thank you in return. I thought wow manners must be so hard with some.. When I sometimes get answers from people, I WILL always thank them even if I didn't find it useful because at least they tried.. I'll always respect the person who isn't sure but tries to help more than the person who DOES know but can't be bothered(why bother being in a club/forum if like that). You tried to help people with your V's but only got bitten by ungrateful people. You're a rare breed of human that's left in society now. I had to find someone in Australia to 3D print one using photos because the guy who made them over here found it too hard to use his fingers on a PC keyboard. Or find a real one but I wasn't going to pay $500-$700US plus shipping for one because it would cost me over $1000AU! Mine isn't perfect but I'm happy with it. Mikes are just grand but he was selling them after I got mine made and now you are making them out of good will. darn!! There's a repo one on eBay now but it looks like it's from the 70's disco scene. Edited by matte 2016-04-18 6:11 PM

Expert Posts: 1493 Location: Jamaica Plain, MA | Mine are cast with a bolt in them, and a nut. They are primed, wet sanded and painted with a gold paint that closely resembles the anodizing. If someone wants to clear coat them, they can spend the $5 on the clear coat. I'll run another batch when I can remember where I put the mold. That said-- I honestly don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I'm not sure what to say. I also make the flookerangs from various FL car and trucks. I have molds for 2 sizes. They need to have any one of a number of chroming processes applied to them, and are held on by body molding tape. These products are made as gifts or thank-yous. They are probably not show quality, but the real Vs in particular were tinny and not made like fine jewelry. They are indistinguishable from the originals unless you are a super expert, and you touch them.
