You have a Canadian-built 1957 Dodge Truck, model K8D-100. The K is for the 1957 model year. Wheelbase was either 108" or 116". The engine should be a 303 poly V8.
To determine what year and size the engine is in there now, locate the engine number which is stamped on the front of the block, driver's side, just below the head. The casting number is for a 318 poly (A block) but the engine number will confirm that and also what year.

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | I saw this same question posted by Ray in "MOPARCHAT" in 2010 and the motor was going into and old Dodge truck in Austrailia? . The one responce said it was a crate motor replacement for a 301 and that he had the same # in one of his cars that was a crate motor. These crate motors were sold from 1959-66? I believe another said it was an LA 318 but you've said it is a poly?
If this is the same person, than maybe this forum could have some better answers ?
God luck, Karl.

Location: St.Catharines, ON CANADA | The engine is a 318 poly because of the swirl of the bottom half of valve covers. I am looking for the location of the year built on motor?
Thanks Guys |

The engine number is stamped on the front of the block, driver's side, just below the head. That will give you the year.
