I am in need of both mirrors for my 56 Chrysler Windsor. The ones I have are pretty sad. The outside is pitted and the mirror itself is cracked. A great body but it won't work as is. Now I have 2 different inside mirrors from 2 Windsors and they are both sad. Can I get some help with this problem?

Those exterior mirrors show up on ebay all the time. If you're concerned with originality, the dual strut mirrors came on 57-63ish Mopars. 55-6 used single strut exterior mirrors.

Interesting, because the dual strut was mounted on my 2nd '56. And the different inside mirrors came on 2 different '56s.

I looked at mine to see if I could help you but it will only goes back to '58 -61 in Chrysler . I am sorry I could not be of any help it was only the day/night rear view mirror
I will go down to the garage to see if I can help you with the fender mirrors. I bought some spares for my '61. I will take photos and upload them

What kind of price might you have for one? Or the pair?

Ron is right. Dual struts were retrofitted to your 56. They were first offered
on the 57 DeSotos and Chryslers, with Dodge and Plymouth retaining the single
strut units through 1958 model year as factory equipment. That said, many
exterior mirror installs were done upon the sale, at the dealership, and they
seemed to use either what was on hand, or what the buyer asked for, as these
installs seem pretty willy-nilly.

Of course, exterior mirrors were not required until 1965, so it was not uncommon
to find misfit or aftermarket mirrors on cars like ours as owners often installed their
own in later years. To them, it didn't matter if it was original. It worked, and that
was all they cared about.

So is the pair of mirrors identical? Or set up for left and right? It looks great at a great price.
