Time once again for the Tacoma Chapter of Mopars Unlimited Annual "Sunbust" Mopar Show, this year being the 30th Anniversary of the show (Can you believe that, GaryS?). Continuously growing popularity has made this a two-day event, with Saturday reserved for Mopars M.Y. 1980 and newer, and Sunday for 1979 and earlier. Nice County Fairgrounds venue south of Tacoma, grass parking field, food, vendors, swap meet, etc. Lots of trophies usually a few deep in many, many categories, including all major year and body classes, stock & modified, etc. Usually a decent turnout of Forward Look cars.

Dave, I can't believe it's been 30 years and that it has become a two day event! I think we had fewer than 50 cars for the first one, but it was always a fun show.

I'll actually be in the area for a wedding on the 15th, but plan to leave the next morning and doubt I can reschedule. I'm attending a show in Denver the week before and adding another day to the trip is really stretching the time I can be gone, but I'll see what I can do. Besides you and Don N., and maybe Wes, I doubt there are many of the original bunch left, and most probably wouldn't remember me anyway. At my age, sometimes even I can't remember who I am!

Oh man, Joe (if he's not off coaching some speed-skating event) would be thrilled to see you, and Scott, (back then, red '67 GTX but 100% Forward Look too, and has a stunning G) would remember you, S. Silver, and some of the Seattle guys, Bob K, etc.. I was 50/50 on whether I was going, I think I just talked myself into going, the only chance I get to see these guys, since I haven't been able to fit the car hobby into life for some years now. Almost discouraging having sold the R/T, and not knowing when or if my project car 60 Windsor Suburban will ever hit the road.

*Bump* Today and tomorrow!
Lots of rain yesterday, but decent weather today and should be nice tomorrow.
(I hope you found a way to stick around this weekend Gary. I mentioned the outside possibility to a few people, and they're hoping to make it!)

Sunday was great weather and about 180 beautiful cars by my count. Not many fwlk cars but some nice ones. My '57 Dodge Coronet convert got the Classic Convertible award, which was kind of a given seeing as how it was the only car in that class. But I was really surprised and honored to take home the Peoples' Choice award, on my car's 3rd outing. Thank you everyone for that.

Another upcoming event worth attending is the annual LeMay open house and auction on August 29 in Spanaway WA, just south of Tacoma. There will be over 1,000 cars at two locations - 300 at the LeMay homestead in nearby Parkland, open only that one day; and another 500 at the Marymount site which is open 6 days a week; plus the hundreds of attendees' cars. The LeMay Collection folks are great people and total car nuts, not to be confused with the LeMay America's Car Museum group up the road where the entire staff owns collectively about 3 old cars.

Ah, that was YOUR Coronet. Congratulations on the recognition! Here are some more pics, sorry not the greatest of photos.
I didn't get a photo of the 999 beige G.
