Expert Posts: 1348 Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | Hey Lou, Sorry, but not about your question but I just wanted to say that I finnished my radiation treatments for prostate cancer 1 year ago today. I was told that I should be good to go. My father had it so I got regular check ups which totally paid off. Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable cancers particularly if found early and they say that ALL men will develope it if they live long enough and just a simply blood test is one of the best indicators. I'm only 61 and I'll bet 30% of my friends in my age groupe or younger have allready had to deal with it. I am guessing your P.S. box is the same as my 60 Plymouth[?] and I just got a rebuild kit at CarQuest or NAPA or Ebay. At the time, I had extra money and paid someone to rebuild it but if I had to do again, I would do it myself. I have a spare box and bought a spare kit, just incase in the near future these kits get real hard to find. Hope all went as well for you as it turned out for me, Later, Karl.

Regular Posts: 53 Location: Dublin Ga | Due cancer problems I had put power steering issue on Desoto on back burner. Discovered pump was failing. Well , a little research revealed that a1968 Plymouth PS pump is a direct bolt on!! the rebuilt one from whoever was 350 + the rebuilt one at napa was 88 bucks. I is a perfect bolt on. I would suggest anyone with a bad pump check this par # on napa site #81665 or 81690. under buyers guide it does not show it firs a 60vehiclle but it does. . Saved a bunch of money thanks napa. Hope this helps others Lou ps feeling better now that I have completed Lupron treatment - energy returning LOu Edited by Lou Earle 2015-10-01 9:25 AM

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | Good luck with your treatment. I had surgery back in 2005. so far so good. As to the pump... I put both those part numbers in the NAPA part number search and no power steering pumps showed up. Edited by jimntempe 2015-10-01 6:39 PM

Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | I looked up 68 fury and it does look like they have rebuilt guts for a Thompson pump. Still can't find that part number though. Wish I'd seen this sooner, it cost me around $200 bucks to track down the right pump and parts to get mine working again. Thanks for posting the info.

Veteran Posts: 149 Location: Iowa | Hey Lou thanks for the NAPA tip. I just ordered a Thompson pump for my 57 Plymouth for $91 minus a $38 core charge.

Expert Posts: 1497 Location: Fairfax, Minnesota | I got all excited because this thread started off discussing a streeing box rebuild, but drifted into pumps. I looked up the part number for the pump on NAPA on line- it sells for less than $60.00 now. Good information
