Subject: valve cover PVC part

ANyone have one of these for sale?....I bought a new PVC assembly (the part on the left) , but need the part(s) that presses onto the valve cover (the three parts on the right., the nut, the housing and inner part that goes into the hole to keep the assembly on the valve cover)...I have a 60 desoto, but am hooking this up so I don't blow oil all over the bottom of the car. (draft tube)..I have the correct carb with the nipple on the base to hook this all up. There are a couple on ebay., but thought I could find one here instead.

I was hoping to find one used and sandblast and paint it. I have a new PVC and elbow already...That unit looks nice though...but $70?...really.

Location: central Illinois		Buy the push in oil cap for a 1987 Dodge van 318. (that is the cap in the picture with the spring steel part to hold it onto the long tube). They cost little. Drill out the rivet then enlarge the hole to the PCV valve size. Simple and cheap fix.

WOW., I went out to my '59 Plymouth and BAM., there was the assembly I needed on the valve cover for my 60!..haha

Got a new PVC assembly off ebay for $5....what a deal.

So it's expensive, but it is a very nice brass valve assembly that will last a life time. Made by Robert Shaw as well. I dunno, what other parts are you going to buy that you know will outlast you?

That must have been the August 2015 Mopar Action magazine you were checking out. I'm the one who submitted the question to Rick Ehrenberg, and that's my 413 Golden Lion valve cover in the pic. Maybe it will increase my car's value. You know, given the celebrity status and all...

Although the Stant oil filler cap (p/n 10098) is the cheapest route, it does require some work to drill out the rivet, plus you still have to buy a PCV valve. I ended up finding a used, complete OEM unit like the one in OP's photo, so I went that route.

It's not in the mag, but in an email to me, Rick advised that a used metal elbow PCV valve is fine as long as the ball inside moves freely when shaken, and even if stuck could be freed up by soaking it in carburetor cleaner.

For those who don't want to drill out the rivet of the Stant cap and don't want to pay for a shiny chrome cap, Auto Metal Direct sells a paintable version ($19.99) in addition to the chrome cap ($39.99), both sans the PCV valve itself.
