Veteran Posts: 157 Location: Central New York | Hi all. I'm reading this thread, and I just want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly. Am I to understand that during the regular Carlisle Mopar show this summer, there will be a large contingent of Forward Look cars? If so, I now have a more important reason to attend. I would love to see all the great cars as well as meeting some of the members of this great website. Is this true ?

Elite Veteran Posts: 1172 Location: Georgia | Yes, this is true! The spotlight of this show is the Forward Look era; 60 year anniversary. There are many of us from around the globe making the trek, it looks to be a great FL gathering. I have never been before, but will be making the drive up from Georgia, as this is the year to go. Plus, Mr. Virgil Exner, Jr., will be a special guest at the show! Can't get much better! Pete

The All Chrysler nationals should be on the bucket list of every Mopar guy. It dosen't get any better. It's a three day show that takes six day's to see. (If you keep moving).

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | Harry. It was great to meet you an Claudia this weekend. Leanne, Penny and I made it home a few hours ago. All went well. To your question about pictures. You must downsize them to be no larger than 250k bytes in size. This is done most easily by using Microsoft Paint and opening each picture, click the RESIZE button in the banner and change the percentage size to 25% from the 100% that shows up in the box. Then you save it and move on to the next picture. If you want you can rename it when you save it so that you don't change the original. It reduces the quality. Once you do this you can check the size of the file and it should be less than the maximum the forum can support and you can then post them in your thread.

I hope you have a lot of pictures of those cars ( were there any others)? See one 60-62 and you have seen them all come on--just a joke. BTW congrats on the long trip with little to no problems on a new build that has extensive modifications --Good Job ! ......................................MO Edited by MOPAR-TO-YA 2015-07-12 10:51 PM

Expert Posts: 1730 Location: Michigan | Thanks Steve. I took pictures of every FL mopar there. Or at least I tried too. Everyone should be able to see their car at this site. https://carlisle2015.shutterfly.com/ There were only a few 55-56 Chryslers at the show. The Desoto's, Plymouths and Dodges were there in spades though. Lot's of cars, more than I have ever seen at one show.

Expert Posts: 1728 Location: Fleetwood, Pa | Actually I was disappointed in the overall turnout. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was hoping for over a hundred cars around the dealership building. It's a shame more didn't show up. I don't think much over 40 cars showed up.....what a shame. However, it was a great time and I really enjoyed meeting and shooting the bull with John, of "Big M" fame as well many of the other cast of characters from this group......

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | good luck finding a couple hundred cars... That would have been an awesome site though. And I think next time around line up all the same makes and models.... And get some darn trucks and line those up together. And no cars unless they are 57-59! Did anyone dress up a 1950's car salesman? Do the suit and the hat with the tie and get out there and SELL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hus_meQSFo4 Edited by mikes2nd 2015-07-15 5:38 PM (hqdefault.jpg) Attachments ---------------- hqdefault.jpg (19KB - 222 downloads)

Elite Veteran Posts: 1053 Location: Ny | Disappointed in the turnout? There isn't an official count to my knowledge right this minute, but there were more than double the cars in the lot than years past-- not even counting the invitational cars within the dealership building. I also know of a handful of cars that were registered but did not make it. Thanks to everyone who did come whether you had a car there or not. We had a great time catching up with old friends and putting faces with screen names. John and Jeff really outdid themselves, and I hope that this will only catapult the forward look into bigger and better things for Carlisle.

Veteran Posts: 157 Location: Central New York | WOW !! what a great show! It was a real treat to finally meet a few of the folks that have been helping me with the Belvy. I got to meet Big M and his wife, as well as a few others, and had wonderful conversation with all. I scored a couple decals and ordered a cool FL t-shirt. (didn't have my size, I gained a few pounds over winter) I was given some tips on my car and made some good contacts. The dealership display was without question the most exciting part. Fantaaaaastic !!! To see these cars up close, and talk to the owners, was truly memorable. I'm going to make every effort to have the car ready for next year's show. Phil.

As a tribute to my black 1961 fury I decided to repaint my current 1 black. Please do not try to talk me out of this I already made this decision , I was told by my dad you can paint it any color you want. I hope someday to find a bumper guard . Expert Posts: 2312 Location: Arizona | I was able to swing by Carlisle for most of a day of this event while driving between relatives homes on my Vacation. While there I took quite a bit of video. The link below takes you to them on youtube. It's a link to my playlist of the three final edited videos I made. The first video is of all the cars out on "the field", the second is of the cars in the Dealership Building, and the third is some shots of a few of the cars as they were being driven. I think I got every car and I'm sure several of you must be in there too. The video is HD so to see these cars best make sure your youtube settings are for the largest HD display. Might want to full screen it too. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc-z6RCfYbQzimje24vE_vFreStdW...

Right up there with Tulsa as an event I am glad I didn't miss this lifetime! Johnny D, Jeff, Jess and Dave S (and possibly others) should be very proud of the period correct dealership that they managed to create in 2015! You knocked it right out of the park. Glenn.
