Location: North Carolina | We need help in our restoration of a 1960 Plymouth Sonoramic Convertible.
Where can we buy the proper coil and the coil bracket for the Long Ram set up? Even an original looking replacement would be acceptable at this point.
Also, does this year use an internally resisted coil or do I also need to have a ballast resistor? If so, where can I get the ballast resistor?
Fun car to restore, but some parts are very hard to track down!
Thanks,

Location: Perth Australia | Not sure on the coil bracket as I havnt seen one, but it should have a single ballast resistor mounted on the firewall and the coil should be marked 12v use with resistor (its basically an 8v coil)
The coil is a canister coil and should be very easy to get from a common parts supplier, the resistor should also be easy enough to get, but ebay might be an easier solution
It is all the same as just about any of them up until they went to electronic ignition (if memory serves, they used a double resistor then)
If your using an orriginal harness, you should be easilly able to see the exact location for the resistor by the wiring connections for the resistor
I cant remember off the top of my head the wire colours, but I think one was blue and the other was pink?
It will be in the wiring schematic though

This is the closest (but very pricey) resistor that I found thats very simmilar to the one off my 318 60 phoenix (pictured below)
The resistance on mine is 0.6 ohms
