Hello Everyone,
It's snowing here in Pennsylvania as I write this, but fast forwarding to warmer times, next year at the All-Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania the spotlight will be on the Exner Era.The director of the event is providing the dealership building and the grounds around it to showcase Chrysler's Forward Look years. With this, there will be an attempt to re-create the look of a dealership from that time complete with displays and promotional material. Of course, central to this gathering will be the vehicles. This is not an invitational car event, but a show open to everyone with or without a vehicle, be it a work in progress or complete. There is an effort to make this the largest and most elaborate exhibit of Forward Look Vehicles possible, a complete projection of what this era of Chrysler Design represents. That said, this is OUR gathering and we're on the center stage, please send any suggestions on what you, the Forward Look Fan, would like to see incorporated into this event.

So please mark July 10-12 on your calendar, hope to see you there !

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to fund this trip and the Host hotel and accommodation arrangement would be helpful. There will probably be a lot of us trying to make this show and expense is a major concern. Fuel cost is going to be a major expense for a lot of us and any $$$ saved would be helpful. Those of you that live In and around PA don't have that added expense. Please help us THAT LIVE 1000-2000 MILES AWAY save money by getting room blocks at a cheaper rate. Time is quickly ticking away. Thanks

There are a lot of us that have never been to Carlisle. That is why I was asking for any info pertaining to this gathering. I guess I'll be like a lot of folks, learning on my own. Thanks.

I know I would be looking for some Hotel recommendations from those that have gone before. My wife and I are "first timers" who would be coming from California.

I'm in the same situation, far away, and would be happy to book a room where some of you folks would be booking too. So far, a friend from Quebec who happens to have been going to that event every year for 20 years at least, recommended Motel 6, near the fairgrounds. I will probably call and book this week.

The Raddison in Camp Hill (about 20 min. away) is a nice place and they offer a group discount if you mention Mopar Collectors Guide.

7 months will go by fast. Come on people. You cry about missing Tulsa. Start saving your $. Make a commitment and attend this FL show. Most of you guys make a whole lot more $$$ than I do. Put on your Big Girl Panties and ask the BOSS for your allowance and start making plans. Hopefully gas price will stay down.

Hello Everyone,

A bit of news, The Red Roof Inn at Carlisle, Phone:(717)-245-2400, has a block of 20 rooms being held for our group until May 31st, 2015. The special rate for these rooms is $99.99 plus tax per night. There are 10 rooms with a King size bed and 10 with 2 Queen size beds. This block of rooms is being held for the dates July 8-July 12, 2015 under the package name, " Forward Look". Ask for the manager, ANDY, and mention the package name. The situation is first come, first serve as far as availability.

Hi John, just booked my room and Looking forward to it!! I have Loved Exner designs since I was a kid and my Grandmother had a 1962 Valiant 2 Door Coupe, White w/ Red interior, bucket seats. I will always miss "IDA MAE" (my grandmother's middle name). She gave it to my Mom in 1971, and my Dad (with severe Mother In Law Issues, traded her in on a 1971 Pinto Runabout, UGH!!! Moment of silence, please!
I have 3 Forward Look's
1. 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer: Red Bottom, Black Center, White Top,38k original miles,
2. 1960 Dodge "Dart" D100 Swept-side Pickup 79k original miles. (I have only seen 2 ads that are identical to her that show her Shiny Aluminum Grill, but have never seen another one anywhere like her. I have been told she is very rare:Mint Green, White Top, Slant Six
3. 1962 Dodge Lancer 2 Door Hardtop, Nutmeg Metallic, Slant 6, 54000 original miles.
Not sure which one to bring, but leaning toward the 1955 Lancer.

Hello Patrick, Fantastic ! This will be an epic event. Yeah, I can definitely relate, my family made a few ill-advised car trades as well.

Any plans to bring one of your fleet to Carlisle ? Forward Looking to seeing you next July !

I'm not too familiar with how Carlisle works. I know there's a FL tent and plenty of cars gathered around it.

When you register are you assigned a space that puts you in the group you select? Or do you just park where you want? If someone could explain the details it would be helpful to people who haven't showed a car here before.

And if the dealership is being showcased with FL cars...is everyone gathering there? Or how does that work?

Maybe I can find a VICTIM in PA. LOL My57Saratoga will probably air lift his there by FedEx!!! AR, TN,NC,MI,CA, Canada are going to be represented. Who else???

I'm arriving thursday, to go to the "pre show" at the Dodge dealer on Carlilse pike.
Carlilse is a big fairgrounds, car park on grass, and there are paved rows where you drive to your spot.
There are placards to designate classes, but no assigned spots within the class. So, you find you class( map are on carlilse website) and park where you like in that class.
But since we are at the dealership this year, we will not be on the fairgrounds. not sure how parking at the dealer will work, that will be determined when we get a better idea of who's car will be there, who gets to go inside the dealership, and where we'd like to place the cars outside.

We are also asking if anyone has any forward look memorabilia, to bring it to display in the dealership.

More info will come as the date gets closer, and we have a better idea of what's going on.

Hey Austin, Details will be worked out over the coming weeks, but Forward Look vehicles will be grouped together for the most part. In past years, we've had the better part of two rows on the show field where we park. Classes include: 55-56, 57-59, 60-61,DeSoto ( all years),Imperial, Fury 56-58,300, and so on. There really isn't any strict procedure on parking our cars, as many of our class lines are blurred in that you, as the owner, can choose to park with cars of the same make or the same year span.

It's gonna be a blast !

Hello Bob,

This is John, Great to hear, hope you can make it next July !There are a block of rooms being offered at a discount rate at the Red Roof Inn at Carlisle ( see earlier post), but they are limited. The nearest Intl. Airport to Carlisle would be Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is a smaller airport with a limited number of flights. BWI ( Balto./Wash. Intl.) and Philadelphia Intl. Airport are also considerations.

Just checking on this RR Inn. Has anyone ever stayed at this one before? Casual review of red roof inn ratings finds this site.

I take this kind of stuff with a half hearted view because I don't know how trustworthy it is. Real experience from people you know is better. So any past experience views would be appreciated.

We're not sure yet, could be the '57 Fury, '59 Custom Royal, or '58 Custom Sierra. If I really get off my butt, the '59 convertible, but it's a long shot.

I am Looking "Forward" to 2015 at The Carlisle Dealership.
I've been coming to Chryslers at Carlisle for about 10 years, and have found that staying at one of the Local Bed and Breakfast that suround the area is not only a good deal for the price, but in most cases is nicer than any chain Hotel. And theres always a delicious breakfast.
One place thats right in Downtown Carlisle i have stayed at is The Carlisle House. They have pleanty of off street parking, and are walking distance of many Restaurants and Shops.

Hello,

Just for reference, there is a ethanol free gasoline station about 20-25 miles South of Carlisle, just a couple of miles off of Route 74, North of York, Pa. Hake's Gasoline, they have 89

and 93 octane. I run it regularly in my '58 as well as newer vehicles. In addition, there is another ethanol free station just East of Harrisburg on Rt. 22, USA Gas.

I'm back in this year. I haven't been there in a few years. I don't know what hotel I'm at, my buddy books it, but it is booked.

H Classes include: 55-56, 57-59, 60-61,DeSoto ( all years),Imperial, Fury 56-58,300, and so on.
It's gonna be a blast !

John

1958 Plymouth Belvedere

Just as an FYI, the class is 56 and earlier, all cars...Usually not a lot of cars there. I've been known to park in another class before just because I like to be closer to the forward lookers and Dave's forward look tent.

The first time I went, the classes were listed as 57 and up and then "pre 56"...So I was like ok, I'm 56, where do I go...LOL...I'm not sure why they call the class pre 57 and not just 1956 and ealier.

either way, always a good time.

My son and I will be there and we are non-USA folks, but we are not Aussies. So I guess that flying in from the Netherlands will not qualify us for the longest distance award with the Aussies coming too
