I bought a half completed 1959 Chrysler 300E restoration project. The car has Auto Pilot or better known these days as cruise control. I'm looking for a picture of the engine compartment to figure out how the linkage is set up on the units. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

We don't see many E s. One with auto pilot--- would be the only one I have seen!

Sure, I can help with this. I restored/installed one from many parts. My car has been put to bed for the winter but I can get at it. Try to in the next few days for some underhood pics.

Let's just keep this thread going.

A 300 E project would be cool to see. I like these a lot, in fact probably my pick of the 300's. Please post some pics.

Did the E's have inline 4's or crossrams? A crossram with Auto Pilot would be a linkage free-for-all

Greg, that would be helpful if you could get some pixs. Here is a photo we found on the AACA site. Its seems my vacuum take sits parallel to the carbs and this picture shows it perpendicular. My bracket linda look home made. Really confusing at this point.

Thinking about the above photo, maybe this was the correct setup on a single carb car. Perhaps on a dual carb car, the booster would not fit this way. Then the custom fabricated brackets for a limited production car would make sense. Just thinking out loud.

The above photo is correct. I will take some from different angles. In the meantime I'll send other pics.

Pics of a 300 D. About as good a photo of the brackets as one can get?

I think auto pilot was N/A on ram cars.

In addition to the 58 bulletin that I copied a few pages for reference above, I also have a very comprehensive multi page bulletin dated Aug. 1960. It covers 58-60 auto pilots. I would have to get it photocopied and snail mail the copies. If anyone wants copies send me a PM.

Greg,
If you take a close look, the mounting tabs on the 300D vacuum tank are different than the ones found on your car. My tank is similar to the 300D tank. Do you have pictures of the throttle linkage for the 300D Auto Pilot? I need to figure that set up also. Thanks for the great photos.

Joe,
I have no more pics but the best illustration of the throttle linkage is the first copy page, auto pilot schematic.
