Expert Posts: 2264 Location: McComb, Mississippi | She is saving her money and asked me to post this message on the site. She's looking for a car in the forward look era and possibly 1962. If anyone knows of a car that fits the following, please let me know. I definitely don't want her driving a Chevrolet!! 1. It needs to be a rust free car. 2. Needs to be automatic. 3. Will need to run and drive. I don't mind redoing brakes and minor engine and suspension work. 4. She'd prefer a sedan. 5. Needs to be $4500 or less. 6. Glass needs to be good condition. 7. Possibly power steering and brakes. Thanks and feel free to pm me or call at 9075450865.

Location: Parts Unknown | Chuck is from the land of rust, so "rust-free" means either a very pampered car or one involving a long distance haul (which ain't cheap). We westerners are spoiled. I am guessing Big M might be a good guy to contact again to see what he has underfoot or on the radar. I always laugh at a phrase I heard years ago from a rust belter. It went something like this: " If we can't see all four wheels from the same side, it's 'rust-free' !!! "

Looks like I'll have another forward look car to keep me busy. Expert Posts: 2264 Location: McComb, Mississippi | I know what years the forward look era covers. I've been here for ten years. She is really looking for a 1961 or 62 chrysler.

Expert Posts: 2264 Location: McComb, Mississippi | It's actually a dart, but I find myself calling it a valiant too. she loves her car, but she's wanting something more roomy and something more forwardlooky to go along with the dart . I think she's pretty much made up her mind on a 61 chrysler and I hope she finds one because I'm quite fond of them myself.

Location: Parts Unknown | When I was in grade school, there was a 56 Sedan DeVille and a 61 300 parked against a fenceline near my school that my friends and I used to play in. I loved that dash and the dart-like looks of the 61 Chrysler and have been a fan ever since.

Expert Posts: 1497 Location: Fairfax, Minnesota | Rust free at that price range will probably involve a more-door car. I bought a nearly rust free 61 Chrysler 2 dr ht that needed brakes, rear springs, shocks, and a couple of thousand in interior upholstery. I paid $6,000 fifteen years ago.

Expert Posts: 2264 Location: McComb, Mississippi | She's actually wanting a sedan so that's not an issue. Nice plymouth but it's a wee bit out of her price range. Thanks though

'Specially to the right buyer.... you and your GF? God forbid if I ever had to sell the Fury, I'd want to know it would go to the "right" person. Edited by sconut1 2014-10-21 10:37 PM
